Common Problems & Solutions in Paper Cup Production

1. Leakage at the cup bottom Cause: Insufficient bottom heating temperature, insufficient seaming pressure, uneven bottom glue application Solution: Increase bottom heating temperature; raise seaming cylinder pressure; adjust bottom glue wheel gap and speed 2. Cup body seam cracking / debonding Cause: Improper hot air temperature, insufficient air pressure, paper deviation, uneven PE film heating Solution: Adjust hot air temperature and air volume; calibrate forming guide; clean heating nozzles 3. Deformed / loose cup rim Cause: Worn curling wheels, insufficient curling pressure, insufficient rim heating, unsuitable paper stiffness Solution: Replace curling wheels; adjust curling mechanism pressure; properly increase rim heating temperature 4. Inconsistent cup height Cause: Inaccurate paper feeding, worn cutting blades, servo positioning error, unstable paper tension Solution: Calibrate paper feeding encoder; grind or replace cutting blades; recalibrate servo parameters 5. Wrinkles and creases on cup body Cause: Poor paper feeding, mismatched molds, uneven guide wheel pressure, damp paper Solution: Clean paper path; inspect and replace molds; balance left-right guide wheel pressure 6. Uneven gluing, glue overflow or debonding Cause: Improper glue wheel gap, abnormal glue concentration/temperature, worn glue scraper Solution: Fine-tune glue wheel gap; adjust glue concentration and temperature; replace glue scraper 7. Jamming & shutdown during forming Cause: Glue buildup on molds, paper path blockage, sensor failure, excessive chain/cam clearance Solution: Clean molds and paper path; check and reset photoelectric sensors; adjust transmission clearance 8. Out-of-round or eccentric bottom Cause: Eccentric bottom mold, worn bottom seaming wheels, deviation of bottom paper feeding, inaccurate bottom cutting Solution: Calibrate concentricity of the bottom mold; replace bottom seaming wheels; adjust bottom paper positioning baffles 9. Scorching marks on outer cup wall Cause: Excessively high heating temperature, overlong heating time, misaligned hot air nozzles Solution: Lower heating temperature; shorten heating delay; calibrate nozzle angle and position 10. Unstable speed & low output Cause: Insufficient air pressure, servo parameter drift, belt slipping, unstable temperature control Solution: Check air compressor pressure; optimize servo operation curve; tension transmission belts
